Ashcroft adds Ally Pally as Lovin' You lands
General sale opens this morning for a 13,500-capacity outdoor night, while the seventh solo album arrives on formats after eight years away from new material.
Richard Ashcroft has added a major outdoor headline date at Alexandra Palace Park in London for 17 July 2026, citing overwhelming demand for his arena run. The show will hold up to 13,500; tickets go on general sale at 9.30am on 3 October 2026, with a pre-sale for anyone who pre-orders the new record. The announcement, made on 29 September 2026, lands on the same stretch as the arrival of Lovin' You, his seventh solo album and his first collection of new songs since Natural Rebel in 2018. Release is set on or around 3 October 2026, though some accounts point to 10 October. Either way, the record is the centre of the campaign: the Ally Pally tickets are tied directly to it through the album pre-order pre-sale.
Arenas sold through, then the park
The new London date follows a run of full houses. Ashcroft sold out Manchester’s Co-op Live on 8 November 2025, then packed Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on 24 March 2026, Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on 26 March 2026, London’s The O2 on 28 March 2026 and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 31 March 2026. Those nights fixed the scale of the demand; Alexandra Palace Park answers it with open-air space and a larger ceiling.
He has also just finished his stint as special guest on Oasis’s UK and Ireland stadium dates. Moving from those stadiums back to his own headline dates has kept the momentum tight: the arenas first, the outdoor add-on next, and the album in shops as the tickets land.
Eight years to Lovin' You
Lovin' You is issued on standard black vinyl, CD and digital. Exclusive colour variants sit beside the core formats — neon orange through the official store, regular orange via Amazon UK, and blue at independent shops — a familiar split that steers collectors toward different outlets without changing the tracklist.
The lead single, Lover, interpolates Joan Armatrading’s Love And Affection. Armatrading has welcomed the use of her song in plain terms: “I love how he’s used my song and I love his song.” Another cut, I’m A Rebel, was co-written and produced with Mirwais, bringing a distinct production hand to a catalogue more often associated with Ashcroft’s own voice and band arrangements.
For a singer still most widely known as the frontman of The Verve, the solo sequence now stretches to seven albums, with a long gap between Natural Rebel and this release. The eight-year wait makes the timing of the live additions sharper: the record is not a footnote to the tour, and the tour is not a vague promotional loop. One feeds the other.
Listeners who already caught the spring arenas now have a summer outdoor date to aim at, and a full new album to sit with before the gates open. What remains immediate is practical. General sale for Alexandra Palace Park begins at 9.30am today. The album is in the window now — on or around today’s date, or a week later, depending on the final schedule — and the variants are already marked out by retailers. After the Oasis stadium leg and the sold-out indoor run, the next fixed point on his own account is that July night in the park, with Lovin' You as the record that carries him there.
