Blossoms set Songs from the Wedding Cake for 2 October

Declan McKenna appears on two tracks, and a November arena run takes the Stockport five-piece from Cardiff to Glasgow.

Blossoms will release their sixth studio album, Songs from the Wedding Cake, on 2 October 2026 through ODD SK/Distiller Records. The record follows 2024’s Gary and is preceded by two singles; a short UK arena tour is scheduled for late November.

The album was produced by Shawn Lee. Lead single Joke About Divorce was released on 20 April 2026. Meet Me In Love followed on 18 June 2026 and carries backing vocals from Declan McKenna. McKenna also features on Additional Driver. The band announced the album on 18 June 2026 alongside that second single, and pre-orders opened the same month.

The title refers to Stockport Town Hall, nicknamed the wedding cake, where frontman Tom Ogden was married. Among the other tracks named with the announcement are Husband, The Kardashians, Fall Into You, Guts, Uma Thurman, Where Have You Been My Whole Life? and The Deep End.

Stockport roots, sixth album

Blossoms formed in Stockport, Greater Manchester, in 2013. The line-up remains Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock — a stable core that has carried the group from early independent singles through a run of full-length records. Blow, You Pulled a Gun on Me and Cut Me and I’ll Bleed marked the first wave; the self-titled debut album arrived in 2016, with Cool Like You following in 2018. Gary came in 2024, accompanied the same year by Gary’s Covers. Further recent singles included What Can I Say After I’m Sorry? in 2024 and The Honeymoon in 2025, before Joke About Divorce opened the way to the new set.

Songs from the Wedding Cake sits in that sequence as the next full statement after Gary, recorded outside the usual local studio circuit and finished with Lee. Bringing Declan McKenna onto two tracks ties the record to another English writer of Ogden’s generation: McKenna broke through after winning the Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition in 2015, scored early with Brazil, and has since released What Do You Think About the Car? (2017), Zeros (2020) and What Happened to the Beach? (2024). His presence here is as a featured voice, not a co-headliner — backing on Meet Me In Love and a credit on Additional Driver — and it underlines how the band are still widening the circle around Ogden’s songs while maintaining the Stockport identity that has defined them since formation.

Arena dates after the release

A UK arena tour in support of the album opens on 26 November 2026 in Cardiff and runs through to 5 December 2026 in Glasgow, with support from The Royston Club. The run is short and concentrated: a late-autumn sweep rather than a long campaign, timed to land once the record has had a few weeks in public. No further legs or international dates were announced in June.

For a band more than a decade on from those first Stockport singles, the package is straightforward — a sixth studio album, a named producer, two advance singles, a pair of guest turns and a handful of arena gigs. Pre-orders have been open since June. The record itself is days away; the live dates follow in November. What comes after Glasgow has not yet been said.
