Courteeners lock November for Pink Cactus Café

Courteeners lock November for Pink Cactus Café

Six nights from the Hydro to Birmingham, Mystery Jets and DMA’S on most bills, and a seventh album still to come after the Wythenshawe Park homecoming.

Courteeners have lined up a six-date UK arena run for November, set against the release of the new single 'Solitude Of The Night Bus' and confirmation of their seventh studio album, Pink Cactus Café. The Middleton band, fronted by Liam Fray, move straight from a sold-out homecoming at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park into larger venues, with the new record still to come.

The itinerary is short and compact. It opens on Thursday 14 November at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, then lands at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Friday 15 November. Saturday 16 November is at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. After a brief gap the second cluster begins at Leeds First Direct Arena on Thursday 21 November, continues at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Friday 22 November, and closes at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Saturday 23 November. All of those shows are still to come.

Who joins them on the night

Mystery Jets support all dates except London and Leeds; DMA’S are special guests on every night except London. This leaves Brixton without either name, while Leeds carries DMA’S but not Mystery Jets. The rest of the run pairs both acts with Courteeners as the headline draw.

The records around the dates

The live news does not stand alone. 'Solitude Of The Night Bus' is already out as a single, and Pink Cactus Café is presented as the band’s seventh album, though no release date for the full record was announced with the tour. Courteeners have also released God Bless The Band, a best-of collection on Ignition Music, and further new tracks including 'The Luckiest Man Alive' and 'Plus One Forever'. That sequence — compilation, fresh singles, a named seventh album — places the November rooms between catalogue stock-taking and the next long player rather than as a pure greatest-hits lap.

The Wythenshawe Park homecoming sits immediately behind the announcement: a sold-out outdoor night on home ground, now followed by a compact arena swing that takes in Scotland, the North West, London, Yorkshire, South Wales and the Midlands. The jump in venue size is the practical story; the musical one is that new material is already in circulation while the album title is public and the full release is still to come.

Tickets for the November dates went on sale at 9am on 19 July through gigsandtours.com and ticketmaster.co.uk. With the shows yet to be played and Pink Cactus Café without a release date, the autumn run is the clearest marker yet of where the band stand between the Ignition best-of and the next studio chapter. No further UK dates have been announced.
