Damien Rice 25 Years, 25 Cities tour 2027: Dublin dates
The debut that reached No 2 in Ireland and went Gold in the United States gets a full anniversary run in halls from Sydney to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, with general sale on Friday.
On 16 October 2026 Damien Rice announced a worldwide run built around the twenty-fifth anniversary of his debut album O. The 25 Years, 25 Cities tour comprises twenty-five headline dates across as many cities in 2027, opening in Australia in February before moving through Asia, Europe, the UK, South America and North America.
Two Dublin nights are confirmed at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on 21 and 22 March 2027. The Australian opening is set for Melbourne's Hamer Hall on 9 February, followed by two nights at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on 11 and 12 February. Cities already named beyond that stretch include Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, Lisbon, Madrid, Rome, Zurich, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Manchester, São Paulo, Toronto and New York.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 23 October 2026 via Ticketmaster. Presales begin on 22 October, with an artist presale opening a day earlier, on 21 October.
Twenty-five years of O
O was originally released in February 2002. It reached No 2 on the Irish Albums Chart, won the Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement in Music and later achieved Gold certification in the United States on sales of 650,000. The record remains the fixed point in Rice's catalogue for the audience that first found him there, and the anniversary tour treats it as living repertoire rather than a museum piece.
He followed the debut with 9 in 2006 and, after a longer gap, with My Favourite Faded Fantasy in 2014, produced by Rick Rubin. Studio albums have arrived at a deliberate pace; the songs from the first record, the promoters said in the announcement, have never stopped travelling with him. In their words, he returns to where it all began.
Halls, not spectacle
The title of the tour is literal: one city after another, twenty-five in all, without a festival circuit or a multi-act package wrapped around it. The rooms already listed — Hamer Hall, the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre — point toward seated, focused headline shows rather than arena-scale. London and Manchester cover the UK leg; Lisbon, Madrid, Rome, Zurich, Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam draw a European arc before the jump to São Paulo and the North American dates in Toronto and New York.
What is not yet public is the full day-by-day routing beyond the cities named, and whether further Irish dates will join the two nights in Dublin. The confirmed skeleton is clear enough for the ticket window now opening: artist presale on 21 October, further presales from 22 October, and general sale at 10am on 23 October through Ticketmaster.
For listeners who have carried O for a quarter of a century, the 2027 dates offer the songs back in the rooms built to hold them. The immediate next step is the sale itself.
