Gabriel brings o\i and Face the Wall into view

The album is scheduled for 27 November 2026, three years after i/o, while the full tracklist and formats remain forthcoming.

Peter Gabriel has announced his new studio album, o\i, scheduled for release on 27 November 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the new track Face the Wall. The record is his first studio album since i/o in 2023.

Three years have passed since that previous full-length. For Gabriel the gap sits inside a career built on deliberate intervals rather than a steady run of product. The English singer, formerly of Genesis and for decades a solo artist with a clear sense of his own pace, has treated each studio statement as a project with its own shape. o\i arrives inside that habit.

The title itself answers i/o. The same two letters reverse direction. That small turn of the name fits a body of work that has long tied songs to larger ideas of exchange, and that has reached listeners in phases rather than as a single drop. Visual pieces and live elements have travelled with the records. The outline of the new campaign is already familiar: the music comes first, then the wider frame. Gabriel continues that pattern with o\i.

Face the Wall is the first public track from the new set. The album is a 13-track record. Formats include Bright-Side and Dark-Side mixes on 2LP and 4CD editions, plus a digital Dolby Atmos version. Gabriel has not rushed. He has set a date, issued a track and detailed the catalogue. In a market that often confuses noise with momentum, that restraint is part of the signature. o\i stands on the calendar for 27 November 2026. Face the Wall is the door into it. Whatever live or visual work may follow remains to be announced, exactly as the last cycle taught audiences to expect.

For now the studio door is open again. The record has a name, a date and a first song. Everything else will arrive when Gabriel is ready to show it.
