Keane take Hopes and Fears back to the arenas

Seven May dates run from Leeds to Dublin’s 3Arena, with The Lathums and The Sherlocks in support. A lyrics-and-history volume on Under The Iron Sea has also been published.

Keane have set seven UK and Ireland arena dates for May 2027 to mark the twentieth anniversary of *Hopes and Fears*, their 2004 debut. Support on the run will come from The Sherlocks and The Lathums. In the same week the band have released *Under The Iron Sea: Lyrics and History*, a book available through their official channels.

The itinerary opens at Leeds First Direct Arena on 3 May 2027, then takes in Birmingham Utilita Arena on 4 May, Manchester Co-op Live on 5 May, Bournemouth BIC on 7 May, Cardiff Utilita Arena on 8 May, The O2 in London on 10 May and the 3Arena in Dublin on 13 May. Tickets went on general sale on 15 September. The announcement itself came on 24 September 2026.

From Battle to the big rooms

Keane formed in Battle, East Sussex, in 1995 after the members met at Tonbridge School. The present line-up is Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes and Jesse Quin; founder guitarist Dominic Scott left in 2001, before the group’s commercial breakthrough. Early singles *Call Me What You Like* and *Wolf At The Door* appeared in 2000 and 2001. *Hopes and Fears* followed in 2004 and remains the album most closely tied to their rise: piano-led alternative rock written for the voice and for the room, the record that turned a Sussex band into a national arena act.

They have since revisited that foundation as well as extended it. In 2024 the group issued *Hopes And Fears 20*, an anniversary edition of the debut, and *Live At Paradiso 29.11.04*, a live document from the first wave of touring around the album. *Live From Mexico City 2024* arrived in 2025, as did the single *See You On The Other Side*. Earlier in the decade they issued the *Dirt* EP and *Live At Largo* in 2021, and the single *Love Actually* in 2023. The May 2027 run is therefore less a one-off nostalgia booking than the live counterpart to a catalogue the band have been actively re-presenting — reissues, live tapes and now a book — while still adding new material.

The Lathums, the book, and the road ahead

The Lathums, the Wigan indie band formed in 2018, are among the named support acts. Singer and guitarist Alex Moore, lead guitarist Scott Concepcion, bassist Matty Murphy and drummer Ryan Durrans came together through The Music Project and signed with Island Records within a year. Their debut album, *How Beautiful Life Can Be*, released on 24 September 2021, went to number one on the UK Albums Chart the following week. Subsequent releases have included *Matter Does Not Define* and its acoustic counterpart in 2025, *Live from Robin Park* the same year, and the *Gull In The Wind* EP in 2026. Such arena slots expose them to the scale of audience their chart debut first suggested.

The Sherlocks complete the support bill on the dates announced.

*Under The Iron Sea: Lyrics and History* was previewed by the band’s official account on 22 September, confirmed for release on 24 September and published on 25 September 2026. It gathers lyrics and historical material around *Under The Iron Sea*, extending the same documentary impulse that has shaped the recent live and anniversary releases. Availability is through the band’s official channels.

With general sale already under way and the book in print, the next concrete step is the May 2027 itinerary itself. Leeds to Dublin, seven arenas, the debut album back at the centre of the set: the anniversary framing of *Hopes and Fears* now has a tour attached, more than two years on from the 2024 reissue, and a written companion for another chapter of the catalogue sitting beside it.
