Kodaline name every track on their final album

Out on 2 October through Concord Records, the set includes Without You and Vultures, and the farewell tour still has dates ahead.

Kodaline have now set out the full twelve-track list for We Were Only Young, their fifth and final studio album, which arrives on 2 October via Concord Records. The detail fills the gap left when the record was first announced; listeners now know what the farewell set contains. Every song was written by frontman Steve Garrigan.

Among the titles are the title track, We Were Only Young, and songs such as Without You, Back To Me, Vultures, It's Not Over and The One For Me. Without You was written for Garrigan's wife on their wedding day. The album turns on growth, relationships, love, loss and closure after more than a decade as a working band — natural ground for a last studio statement from a group that has lived much of its life on stage and on record together.

Closing the studio years

We Were Only Young follows One Day At A Time from 2020 and brings Kodaline's run of studio albums to a close. The group, from Swords in north County Dublin, began as 21 Demands before taking the name Kodaline in 2012 to match a change in their music. The line-up has stayed constant through the years: Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, Vincent May and Jason Boland.

Their breakthrough came with In a Perfect World in 2013, the album that carried the band from Irish rooms to a much wider audience. That same year brought a cluster of EPs — Brand New Day, Love Like This and The High Hopes EP among them — plus a live recording from the Button Factory, a burst of activity that fixed the band's early identity. Later entries included All I Want in 2021 and the live set Our Roots Run Deep in 2022. The long gap since the last full studio record now ends with a deliberate full stop rather than another open chapter.

The band announced this final album and a world farewell tour earlier in 2026. That tour continues, with dates across Europe and beyond still ahead. Album and touring sit side by side for a final stretch: one closes the studio door, the other keeps the songs in front of audiences a little longer.

What the twelve tracks settle

For listeners who have followed Kodaline since those early EPs and the first album, the new record offers a clear frame around the body of work. Garrigan writing the whole set gives it a single voice at the point of leaving. Themes of love and loss sit next to the sense of a chapter finished, without any need for a grand gesture beyond the songs themselves.

Nothing further has been said about plans once the farewell dates are done. The immediate calendar is straightforward: the album on 2 October and the remaining gigs on the farewell run. After more than ten years under the Kodaline name, the studio catalogue now has its last entry, and the live chapter is the one still being written night by night.
