Netflix has partnered with Lewis Capaldi, to release a feature-length music documentary titled "Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now", the documentary is set to be released worldwide on Netflix on April 5th.
Directed by BAFTA winner Joe Pearlman, the film offers a raw and honest look at Lewis Capaldi's life as he navigates a pivotal moment in his career. It captures the young artist as he attempts to reconnect with his roots and the family and friends he left behind, all while working on his highly-anticipated second album.
The film takes viewers on a journey through Capaldi's defining year, showcasing the struggles he faced as he tried to balance the familiarity of home with life as one of the biggest stars on the planet. Through Capaldi's own words, viewers are given an intimate portrait of his unique character, hopes, and fears.
“I’m pretty terrified for people to see this documentary if I’m quite honest, but I’m also really proud of it. I hope you enjoy it x,” said Capaldi.
Sam Bridger, Head of Music Film, praised the documentary, saying, "This started out as a film about the process of creating the ‘difficult second album’, but ended up being an astonishingly unguarded portrait of the pressures of fame on young shoulders, exploring one of the great conversations of our age - mental health."
Stuart Souter, BMG Vice President Films, added, "This is much more than just a music film. With the support of his family, Lewis has opened up in a unique way. Just like his music, we are confident that it will connect with people around the world.”
Fans have eagerly awaited the return of Lewis Capaldi, and he did not disappoint. His comeback track, "Forget Me," rocketed straight to the top of the UK singles chart in September 2022 and became Platinum-certified with over 200 million streams worldwide. Capaldi's highly anticipated second album, "Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent," is set to be released on May 19th. Like his debut album, it promises to be full-force honesty without any bells, whistles, or featured vocalists.
Debut album "Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent" sold over 10 million copies worldwide, becoming the biggest selling UK album of 2019 and 2020. It spawned two UK number one singles and earned Capaldi a few BRITs and a Grammy nomination. "Someone You Loved," one of the album's number one hits, recently became the UK's most-streamed song of all time.
