Mumford & Sons and Hozier unite on new single ‘Rubber Band Man’

Friday 24th, 2025

Mumford & Sons have teamed up with Ireland’s own Hozier for a powerful new single, ‘Rubber Band Man’, out now on all streaming platforms. Produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, the track marks the first official studio collaboration between the British folk-rock giants and the Wicklow-born singer-songwriter.

Recorded at Long Pond Studios in upstate New York, Rubber Band Man follows just seven months after the release of Mumford & Sons’ fifth number-one album, Rushmere. The partnership between Marcus Mumford and Hozier has roots stretching back to 2017, when Hozier joined the band on stage for a rousing cover of With A Little Help From My Friends at Dublin’s Longitude Festival. Since then, a lasting friendship has evolved into this long-awaited creative collaboration.

With Dessner’s signature production touch, the song blends atmospheric instrumentation and soulful harmonies, pairing Marcus Mumford’s emotive delivery with Hozier’s unmistakable baritone. The result is a confident step forward for both artists – a stirring anthem that bridges folk, soul, and modern rock.

To mark the release, Mumford & Sons will embark on a sold-out UK arena tour this winter, with the following dates already confirmed:

  • 29 November – Utilita Arena, Newcastle (sold out)

  • 30 November – First Direct Arena, Leeds (sold out)

  • 8 December – Utilita Arena, Cardiff (sold out)

While no Irish tour date has been announced yet, fans across Ireland will be thrilled to see Hozier’s collaboration take centre stage with Mumford & Sons – a pairing that feels both natural and long overdue.
