Oasis Croke Park ticket case delayed into the new year

Charges of misleading practice over Platinum tickets sold for the 2025 reunion gigs return for mention on 9 November, with the four-day hearing now expected after Christmas.

The trial of Ticketmaster on two charges of misleading commercial practice over Platinum tickets for the Oasis reunion concerts at Croke Park has been postponed. The case, brought by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, was listed at Dublin District Court on Monday, 5 October 2026. Judge Anthony Halpin put the four-day hearing back into the new year after the defence asked for an expert report. The hearing had originally been expected in December.

The charges sit under section 47 of the Consumer Protection Act 2007. They allege that Ticketmaster deceived consumers about the characteristics of Platinum tickets and provided unclear or untimely price information for tickets sold on 31 August 2024. The alleged offences relate to the Gallagher brothers' gigs at Croke Park in August 2025.

The defence expects to call around a dozen witnesses. A new date for the full hearing will be set when the case returns for mention on 9 November.

Judge Halpin's ruling follows the defence request for expert evidence. With a substantial witness list expected, the four-day trial will not now sit before the end of the year. The procedural next step is the mention on 9 November, at which the court is due to fix a fresh listing.

The Gallagher brothers are not defendants. The proceedings concern Ticketmaster and the way tickets for the Croke Park concerts were presented for sale. How premium tickets are described, and when the full price is shown, is the question the Dublin District Court will eventually try. Until the expert report is ready and a new date is set, the two charges under the Consumer Protection Act remain allegations only. On 9 November the timetable should become clearer.
