Oasis reunion film locks its Disney+ slot

After taking £2.66 million in its opening weekend — the highest for a documentary in the UK and Ireland this year — the Live ’25 documentary will be available to stream on Disney+, and 2027 dates already include Dublin’s Slane Castle and Knebworth.

The Oasis concert documentary Don’t Look Back in Anger will be available to stream on Disney+. The move closes a short theatrical run that set a high bar for music documentaries at the UK and Irish box office, and it brings the band’s 2025 reunion tour to a far wider audience than cinemas alone could reach.

Directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, with a screenplay by Steven Knight, the film runs 122 minutes. It draws together rehearsal, backstage and onstage footage from the Oasis Live ’25 dates, and includes the first joint interviews Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher have given in more than 15 years. The picture premiered out of competition at the Venice Film Festival on 5 September and opened in limited theatrical release across the UK and Ireland. It took £2.66 million in its opening weekend and was the highest-grossing documentary of the year in those territories. Reviews have been positive. Alongside the noise of the stadiums, the film traces the emotional force the reunion carried for fans beyond the venues themselves.

The songbook on the road again

Oasis formed in Manchester in 1991, initially under the name the Rain, with Liam Gallagher on vocals and a line-up that soon included Noel Gallagher as guitarist and principal songwriter. Definitely Maybe, released in 1994, and the cluster of early singles and EPs around it — among them Supersonic, Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol — placed the group at the centre of Britpop. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? followed in 1995 and carried the songs onto a global stage. After the band’s split, Liam fronted Beady Eye from 2009 to 2014 before a solo run that includes As You Were (2017) and Why Me? Why Not. (2019); Noel continued as a writer and performer under his own name. Live ’25 brought the shared catalogue back under one roof. Live singles drawn from those nights landed through 2025 and into 2026, including Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ’25), Slide Away (Live from Cardiff, 4 July ’25), Little By Little (Live from London, 2 August ’25) and Acquiesce (Live from Wembley Stadium, 28 September ’25).

For an audience that already knows the choruses by heart, the film’s interest lies less in surprise than in proximity: the graft of rehearsal, the charge of the big rooms, and the uncommon sight of both brothers speaking on camera in the same frame. That is the work the documentary is built to hold.

What comes after the credits

Oasis return to touring in 2027. Dates already indicated include Slane Castle in Dublin and Knebworth. No full itinerary has been published beyond those markers, and no new studio album has been announced. The Disney+ release keeps Live ’25 in circulation once the cinema prints are gone; the 2027 stadium shows keep the live chapter open. Between the stream and those nights, the records — and the stages they still fill — remain the point.
