Oasis reunion film streams with unseen tour cuts

Full takes of Wonderwall and Slide Away, plus more of the brothers’ first joint interview in two decades, land exclusively after a cinema run that topped the UK and Ireland documentary charts.

Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger arrives on Disney+ today with previously unseen footage from the band’s Live ’25 reunion tour that was held back from the cinema cut. The exclusive stream adds fuller performances of Wonderwall and Slide Away and further material from the first joint on-camera interview Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher have given in more than twenty years.

The film runs a little over two hours. It was written and created by Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, and it moves between rehearsals, backstage access and live performances drawn from thirteen dates. Stops captured on camera include Cardiff, Manchester, Dublin, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Mexico City. Magna Studios and Sony Music Vision present the production, with cinematography by Haris Zambarloukos and a sound mix from James Mather and Tarn Willers.

Cinema run, then the wider window

The theatrical release opened in UK and Irish cinemas and on IMAX screens from 9 to 11 September, after a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in early September and a UK premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square on 8 September. It grossed £2.66 million in its UK and Ireland opening weekend and became the highest-grossing documentary of 2026 in those markets to date. Fan screenings ran in Manchester and Dublin alongside the commercial dates.

That short cinema window, and the box-office figure that came with it, have already been set out. What changes today is reach and content. The Disney+ edition is the first chance for a general audience to see the picture at home, and it carries the extra joint-interview passages and the complete live takes that the theatrical version did not include. For anyone who caught the IMAX print in September, the draw is the unseen material; for anyone who missed the run entirely, the whole film lands in one place.

Brothers, songs, and the tour on record

Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher had not sat together for an on-camera interview since Oasis split in 2009. The documentary uses that conversation, set against the Live ’25 shows, to trace reconciliation, the emotional force of the tour and the hold the catalogue still has on crowds who grew up with the records and on listeners who have found them since. Knight’s frame keeps the piece from reading as a straight concert souvenir: the through-line is how the return landed for the band and for the rooms that filled night after night.

Wonderwall and Slide Away sit at the centre of the new footage. Full performances of both songs arrive in the streaming cut, giving the film a clearer account of the live set than the shorter theatrical edit allowed. Around them sit the rehearsal floors and the stadium nights across three continents, cut together as a single continuous record of the reunion rather than a highlights reel.

The September engagement was always finite. From today the film streams exclusively on Disney+, with the extended interview and the complete song takes as the stated additions. No further platform window or physical release has been announced beyond that 9 October start. For an audience that has followed Oasis from the original run through the long silence after 2009 and into Live ’25, the documentary now sits where most of that audience actually watches: at home, with the songs in full and the brothers on camera together again.
