Placebo map Latin America as the anniversary tour rolls on
Helen Keller is already available on streaming platforms and in the live set. UK and Ireland dates are scheduled before Christmas, with six Latin American countries locked in for early 2027.
Placebo have confirmed a Latin American leg of their 30th Anniversary Tour for February and March 2027, taking in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico. The European run that opened in Porto on 28 September 2026 is still under way, and the new single Helen Keller is already part of the live set.The track arrived on streaming platforms on the same day the tour began. It reworks the piano melody from the 1996 B-side H.K. Farewell into a rock song, produced by the band with Adam Noble. Brian Molko described it as "a new rock song inspired by the piano melody from 'H.K. Farewell'" and said it was named after one of his favourite people from history. The single is available now and will be performed on upcoming dates.
Europe through the autumn
The European leg keeps its focus on the band's first two albums and runs through October and November 2026. UK and Ireland shows follow in late November and early December, among them Nottingham, Glasgow and London. Porto was the opening night; the rest of the autumn and into December continue the same anniversary framing across the remaining European cities.
For a band marking three decades, the shape of the run is deliberate. The live brief stays fixed on the early catalogue rather than a full career sweep, and the new single sits inside that frame rather than beside it. Helen Keller is not a one-off dropped into a greatest-hits set: it is built from a melody that belongs to the same mid-1990s moment the tour is celebrating and finished as a rock song ready for the stage the band are on now.
South across the Atlantic
Once the European and British dates are done, the 2027 itinerary opens a second chapter. Six countries are on the Latin American list between February and March. The same brief — the first two albums, and Helen Keller drawn from the 1996 B-side — travels with them. Nothing further has been announced beyond that stretch: no additional single accompanies Helen Keller, and the shape of any later legs remains unconfirmed.
What has changed since the single first circulated is the map. The European gigs are no longer a forthcoming block; they are the present tense of the tour, with UK and Ireland still to come before the year ends. Latin America then extends the anniversary into early 2027 without altering the musical brief. Molko’s description of the track remains the clearest guide to what the band have put into circulation: a new rock song, rooted in an old piano line, named for a figure from history he has long admired, and already tested in front of audiences as the tour continues.
For listeners following the anniversary, the position is simple. Helen Keller is out, the European leg is in motion, Nottingham, Glasgow and London still sit on the calendar, and six Latin American countries are locked in for February and March. The rest — any further releases, any dates beyond that Latin American run — have not been announced.
