Stewart locks in Dublin and Belfast for The Final Encore

The April 2027 nights follow the heart operation that cut short One Last Time — and a statement that calls this run the end of life on the road.

Sir Rod Stewart has confirmed Irish dates on The Final Encore, the tour he has declared will be his last after more than six decades on the road. He plays Dublin's 3Arena on 23 April 2027 and Belfast's SSE Arena on 27 April 2027, with further nights already flagged across the UK and mainland Europe.

The announcement came on 28 September 2026. In a statement addressed to fans, he wrote: "My dear friends, The time has come to say farewell to life on the road. After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last." The language is plain. The Final Encore is not offered as one more loop with a soft landing; it is the close of the touring life.

That close arrives after a sharp interruption earlier in the year. A heart operation forced him to cut short the One Last Time tour, the outing that had already carried a sense of late-career reckoning in its title. At the time of the operation, Penny Lancaster said he would "come back stronger than ever." The Final Encore is the form that return now takes — and the limit he has put on it.

The Irish pair and the wider run

For Irish audiences the practical markers are the two April nights. Dublin takes the island's first date on the itinerary; Belfast follows four days later. Both rooms have long been part of the circuit for major British and Irish acts on farewell and anniversary runs, and both will be offering a different proposition this time: a final pass rather than a return visit in another couple of years.

UK arena stops are part of the run. Mainland European dates complete the map through the spring and into the summer. What hardens now is the Belfast date beside Dublin and the firm last-tour wording attached to the whole enterprise.

Where the road ends

No further recording plans were mentioned in the statement. The studio side of the work therefore stays outside the present announcement. What is settled is the live career as Stewart has described it: after more than sixty years of stage work, The Final Encore is to be the last.

The sequence matters. One Last Time was cut short by the operation. The Final Encore reopens the road under a harder title and a clearer goodbye. Fans who buy into the Irish and UK nights are being asked to treat them as the end of that particular contract between singer and room — the records and the catalogue remain; the touring life, on his word, does not.

Details of ticket sales, support acts and the final routing of the European legs will follow the ordinary promotional cycle. For now the facts that stand are the ones he put on the record on 28 September: the farewell to life on the road, the Irish dates in April 2027, and the insistence that this encore is the last.
