Supergrass add extra dates to 2027 UK tour due to phenomenal demand

Supergrass have added three extra dates to their spring 2027 UK headline tour after phenomenal demand for the initial run.

The new shows are set for Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on 28 April, Manchester Academy on 2 May and London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on 8 May. They extend a tour the band first announced last week, with the initial nine concerts in Newcastle, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Bristol and Portsmouth.

Frontman Gaz Coombes said: “Last time around was all about ‘I Should Coco’ so for the next live shows we’re going to have some fun going through the records, pulling out even more of them hits and deep cuts for your ears. Bring on Spring 27!” The itinerary is Supergrass’s first UK headline tour since the 2025 dates that marked thirty years of their debut album, I Should Coco.

Oxford roots and the six albums

Formed in Oxford in 1993, Supergrass spent most of their working life as Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn and Danny Goffey, with Rob Coombes joining the line-up officially on keyboards in 2002. I Should Coco arrived in 1995 and announced a band that mixed Britpop energy with a sharper, more playful edge. In It for the Money followed in 1997, tightening the songwriting without losing the charge of the early singles.

That sequence of records — six studio albums in all — is what the 2027 shows will draw on. The 2025 anniversary campaign around I Should Coco had already put the band back into UK venues for a focused look at the debut. Spring 2027 widens the brief. Coombes has described the nights as a chance to reach both the familiar singles and the deeper album tracks that filled the years after those first two records.

Recent catalogue work has kept older material in circulation. A twentieth-anniversary edition of Road to Rouen appeared in 2025, alongside singles and an EP tied to the I Should Coco anniversary period, among them Alright / Time, Lenny, Lose It and Sofa (Of My Lethargy). The live dates sit in the same arc: looking back across the run of albums while playing them on stage again.

How the run now stands

Tickets for the full tour went on general sale on 4 September, the day the three extra nights were confirmed. The added Glasgow, Manchester and London dates form part of that sale window, giving second nights in three of the cities already on the map.

Support acts and the final setlist order have not been announced. What is settled is the scale: twelve UK headline dates instead of nine, concentrated in spring 2027 and pitched as a full-catalogue outing rather than another anniversary focus. For listeners who grew up with I Should Coco and In It for the Money, and who returned for the 2025 anniversary shows, the expanded run is the first chance in this phase to hear the wider body of work on a dedicated UK headline tour.

How far into the six albums the band choose to go remains open — Coombes’s promise of hits and deep cuts leaves the balance to the night. The three new dates simply make sure more of that audience can find out in the room: Barrowland on 28 April, Manchester Academy on 2 May, and the O2 Forum Kentish Town on 8 May.
