The 1975 have announced their return to Australian stages with a run of all-ages headline shows in January 2027. The dates are Sunday 17 January at The Tivoli in Brisbane, Tuesday 19 January at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Wednesday 20 January at Festival Hall in Melbourne, Thursday 21 January at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide and Saturday 23 January at HBF Stadium in Perth.

Frontman Matty Healy stated in the accompanying note: “We have decided to start touring again this year, due to the size of the venues that we feel are appropriate for this particular tour and taking into consideration the humbling dedication that I have felt from a lot of our fans I predict that only the most dedicated fans will get tickets.” Tickets are on sale through the listed venues. All dates remain on sale.

The booking follows the band’s recent reappearance on social media with a new neon-pink logo and an open letter that signals a “new chapter” and hints at a forthcoming album. The Australian run is the first concrete live shape given to that return: five cities, mid-sized rooms rather than arenas, and a short, dense itinerary that keeps the band on the ground for a single week in mid-January.

The 1975 are an English pop rock band formed in Wilmslow, Cheshire in 2002. The line-up has long been Matty Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald on bass and George Daniel. The name itself came from a page of scribblings found in Healy’s copy of Jack Kerouac’s *On the Road*, dated “1 June, The 1975”. That origin story has always sat beside a discography built in careful stages rather than sudden leaps.
