The record is out now via BMG, following its announcement alongside the conclusion of the North American tour.

The Charlatans announced their fourteenth studio album, We Are Love, on 29 September; the record is out now through BMG. The announcement came alongside the conclusion of the band's North American tour.

Their official website lists We Are Love on vinyl and CD, with rarities exclusive to the band's store.

From Some Friendly to album fourteen

The Charlatans formed in the West Midlands in 1988 and reached a wide audience with the debut album Some Friendly in 1990. That record and its singles — among them The Only One I Know — fixed the band in the early Nineties landscape and opened a career that has never stopped. Lead vocalist Tim Burgess has remained the constant public voice of a group whose studio and live output has stretched across more than three decades.

The run of releases is dense. Early EPs and singles such as Indian Rope, Then and Over Rising sat beside the first albums; later years brought further studio sets, live documents and expanded reissues. In 2021 the band issued Pleased to Meet You (Demos) and the live collection Trust Is for Believers. A recording of their Reading Festival set from 1992 followed in 2022. The thirtieth-anniversary expanded edition of Up to Our Hips arrived in 2024, and 2025 brought a BBC Radio Sessions EP and the single Deeper And Deeper. We Are Love is the next full studio statement in that sequence — the fourteenth, by the band's own count.

What marks the new record is the tone the group have chosen to foreground. They have framed the album around love as a public idea rather than a private one: a forward push after a long catalogue already full of chart singles and number-one albums. For listeners who have followed the band from the West Midlands clubs through the arenas and back into the halls, the claim is continuity, not reinvention.

With the North American dates already behind them, the immediate focus has been the album's release. We Are Love is available in the formats listed by the band, including those store exclusives.
