The Script’s User’s Guide is out — arenas next

The Script released their new studio album, The User’s Guide To Being Human, on 14 August 2026 via the band’s label; it marks a new era for the Irish group. It includes the hard-hitting single Man In The Arena and The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall, a nostalgic ode inspired by the communal joy of Oasis’s Live ’25 tour. All bundles from the band’s official store include a signed limited-edition photo print.

Man In The Arena Tour

The band will celebrate the release with an international headline arena tour, the Man In The Arena Tour. It opens with two nights at Dublin’s 3Arena on 30 and 31 October 2026, then moves through the UK: Belfast SSE Arena on 2 November, Newcastle Utilita Arena on 5 November, Birmingham Utilita Arena on 6 November, Manchester Co-op Live on 7 November, Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on 9 November, Leeds First Direct Arena on 10 November, Aberdeen P&J Live on 12 November, Glasgow OVO Hydro on 13 November, Sheffield Utilita Arena on 14 November, Bournemouth International Centre on 16 November, Cardiff Utilita Arena on 17 November, Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on 19 November and London The O2 on 21 November. Further European, Asian and Australian legs follow in 2027.

A run built on number ones

Formed in Dublin in 2001 by lead vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist Danny O’Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power, The Script moved to London after signing to Sony’s Phonogenic imprint. Their self-titled debut album arrived in August 2008, preceded by the single We Cry and carried by The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Breakeven and Before the Worst. It peaked at number one in Ireland and the UK.

Science & Faith (2010), #3 (2012) and No Sound Without Silence (2014) all topped the album charts in both countries. Hits from those years included For the First Time, Nothing, Hall of Fame and Superheroes. Freedom Child followed on 1 September 2017 and brought the UK Top 20 single Rain. Sunsets & Full Moons was released on 8 November 2019, carrying The Last Time; a Greatest Hits collection arrived on 1 October 2021; and Satellites followed in 2024.

That catalogue has delivered six UK number-one albums and eight Irish number ones, more than 14 billion streams and five million album sales worldwide. The User’s Guide To Being Human continues the sequence. On The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall, the new work nods to a live culture still fresh in the memory: Oasis’s Live ’25 dates, which filled stadiums and parks across 2025 and put shared singing back at the centre of the big outdoor night.

With the album already in shops and on streaming services, the focus shifts to the stage. The two Dublin shows open an autumn run that covers the main UK arenas before the 2027 dates take the tour further afield. For a band whose records have long been built for the big room, the Man In The Arena Tour is the natural next step.
