Florence Road lock in Mexico City nights with Sombr

Two January shows at the Pepsi Center sit between Irish headline dates and a May UK and European run already filling halls.

Florence Road will make their Mexican debut as special guests of Sombr at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City on 29 and 30 January 2027. The Bray four-piece will join Sombr on his You Are The Reason Tour for those nights, a further step on a live map that widened sharply during 2026.

The booking follows the release of their single 'Wish Upon You' on 9 October via Warner Records. It comes amid a diary already heavy with their own dates: Irish headline nights in November and December 2026 come first, then Mexico, then a UK and European headline tour in May 2027 that already includes London shows. A sold-out US tour earlier this year set the pattern; the January nights extend it into new territory.

From a shed in Bray

Florence Road are Lily Aron on vocals, Emma Brandon on guitar, Ailbhe Barry on bass and Hannah Kelly on drums — childhood friends from Bray, County Wicklow, who began making music together as teenagers. Early rehearsals took place in Aron's garden shed. The sound they shaped blends atmospheric indie rock with emotionally direct writing, drawing on The Cranberries as well as later touchstones such as Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers: melodic guitars, dynamic rhythms and Aron's vocal delivery held between the nostalgic and the modern.

An early stretch of distinctive online covers drew support from Olivia Rodrigo and beabadoobee. The 2025 project Fall Back gave that attention a first proper statement — introspective lyricism set against expansive indie arrangements — and a run of singles the same year kept the band moving. Among them were 'Break the Girl', 'Caterpillar', 'Figure It Out', 'Heavy', 'Miss' and 'Storm Warnings', plus a triple j Like A Version of 'Georgia'. An earlier single, 'another seventeen', had already appeared in 2022.

In 2026 the group followed with the EPs Hanging Out To Dry and Spring Forward, the single 'Rabbits Can Swim', and then 'Wish Upon You'. The sequence is short in years yet already dense on record. Warner Records is the label on the latest single; the live work is now catching up with the reach the songs have claimed.

What the dates map out

Special-guest status is not a headline landing of their own, and the piece does not pretend otherwise. It does place Florence Road on a major arena stage in Mexico for the first time, on someone else's tour, after American rooms that sold out earlier in the year. Home audiences still get them first. The Irish headline nights through November and December remain the immediate live focus. May 2027 then turns the band back to their own bill across the UK and Europe, with those London shows already gone.

For a group still early in their recorded life — one full project in 2025, two EPs and a growing string of singles through 2026 — the pattern is plain enough. The craft stays on the records and the stage. The map keeps widening. Further detail on the Pepsi Center shows sits with the You Are The Reason Tour; the Irish dates and the May headline run are already locked. What remains open is how far the next stretch of writing and recording will travel once those gigs are played — and that, for now, is still to be announced.
