Florence Road set Wish Upon You and their biggest tour yet
A soaring piano love song arrives from the Bray four-piece, with two nights at the O2 Kentish Town Forum and a sweep of European cities already in the diary for 2027.
Florence Road have released Wish Upon You, their biggest-sounding track to date, and announced their largest UK and European headline tour for 2027.The single arrived on or around 8 October 2026. It is built around a sweeping piano arpeggio that opens into an uncomplicated, joy-filled love song. Vocalist Lily Aron said the piece emerged spontaneously in the studio while the band were working on another track — a moment of ease that now sits at the centre of their most expansive recorded statement so far.
From a shed in Bray
The four-piece — Lily Aron on vocals, Emma Brandon on guitar, Ailbhe Barry on bass and Hannah Kelly on drums — are childhood friends from Bray, County Wicklow. They began making music together as teenagers, rehearsing in Aron’s garden shed, and gradually shaped a sound that blends atmospheric indie rock with emotionally direct songwriting. The Cranberries are among their touchstones, alongside contemporary influences including Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers. Melodic guitars, dynamic rhythms and Aron’s distinctive vocal delivery give the music a feel that is both nostalgic and modern.
Early covers shared online drew attention and support from artists including Olivia Rodrigo and beabadoobee. The debut mixtape Fall Back, released in 2025, marked their first proper milestone and introduced a wider audience to the group’s balance of introspective lyricism and expansive indie arrangements. That year also brought a run of singles — among them Break the Girl, Caterpillar, Figure It Out, Heavy, Miss and Storm Warnings — and a breakthrough stretch of live dates that established Florence Road as one of Ireland’s most closely watched emerging acts.
Further releases followed in 2026, including the EPs Hanging Out To Dry and Spring Forward and the single Rabbits Can Swim. The band have already supported Wolf Alice and The Last Dinner Party, and their live reputation has continued to grow with each run of shows.
A wider map for 2027
The new headline itinerary is their biggest yet. It takes in Antwerp, Hamburg, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Munich, Milan, Zurich, Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Leeds, Nottingham and Cardiff, with two nights at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum in May 2027. The scale matches the reach of Wish Upon You: a band still early in their catalogue, now plotting rooms and cities that sit well beyond the circuit that first carried them.
On a recent US tour, the group had equipment stolen. Fender stepped in with support, and Eddie Vedder offered help in person — including the use of his guitar and a slot at his Ohana Festival. The episode underlines how far the Bray outfit have already travelled on stage, even as the new single points towards a more open, piano-led studio sound.
What comes next is the 2027 run itself, and whatever full-length statement may follow the recent EPs. For now Wish Upon You is out, the diary is filling across Britain, Ireland’s near neighbours and a long European loop, and Florence Road are moving on a larger map than the garden shed that first held them.
